Introduction
This is my personal blog, hosted for free through Jekyll and GitHub Pages. Here I write about my three main interests: 1) data engineering and related topics, 2) literature and poetry, 3) science and philosophy. Originally I studied molecular biology and ventured into biophysics/computer simulations during my MSc. For 1.5–2 years I continued this with a PhD in Finland, but for various reasons I have returned back to the Netherlands.
My apparent knack for working with computers has led to a (fresh) career change to data engineering and automation (RPA/IPA). In my work I sometimes encounter problems (lack of documentation, unexpected results, complicated topics) that require a lot of research. This blog is meant to be a central repository for these articles.
To compensate for sitting behind a computer screen (especially after spending hours on complex tasks like coding or scripting), I also try to be creative by writing poems, essays, and short stories. Not as much as I'd like, unfortunately, but some of those pieces will surely make it here if you're interested. I tend to bite off more than I can chew when it comes to personal projects, but I hope to also write the occasional book or movie review.
It should be noted that the articles and opinions expressed on this blog are my own and are not necessarily endorsed by, or in any way reflect the views of, my employer.
